In this tutorial, tap dance specialist Kaleena Miller demonstrates how to correctly perform a cramp roll, a foundational step in tap dancing. The cramp roll is characterized by four separate sounds, produced by alternating between the balls and heels of your feet. The sequence starts with the ball of your right foot, followed by the ball of your left foot, then transitions to dropping your right heel and finally your left heel. Each action should be isolated to create four distinct auditory elements. For optimal execution, it's advisable to maintain a level posture and keep your legs slightly bent, which facilitates a more resonant heel drop.
